Overlays by Jonathan Heilbron is a piece exploring space and time, imitation and synchronization. It consists of several recordings of the same composition - recorded at various locations and times - overlaid on one another. The piece is ever evolving in the sense that more recordings will continuously be made and overlaid on existing versions. Rain, cars, people, insects and wind are some of the sounds you hear. Interpreted and mirrored by whoever performs the piece and shaped by the the acoustic properties of concrete, wood and open space.
